Christmas is Coming, What do you do!

ricardog started this conversation

I've been reading a lot of what people are talking or what is on people's minds. But I hate to talk about this when Halloween has not even happen but Christmas. Everyone is worried what to do for Chirstmas and what needs to happen.

Bills are piling up, food is so little, faith is going down and there is no light at the end of the tunnel...

So my friends, here are some tips that can help you find the Christmas that you want. Remember what it is, it's a celebration of life and a birthday of someone dear to us.

Find a job, weither it's part-time or full time but work needs to happen. Even if it's not what you are used to not doing but get to work. You need some type of money. Start running a garage sale or saling something you no longer need. Get that money going. Save, save a dollar or pennies or whatever and save it. Spend it before Christmas for Christmas.

Start buying extra at the grocery store. If you buy a can of green beans, buy two. Put one can a side for Christmas. Can good keep well. Included canned fruits, vegatable, meats, biscuits. Buy two of each and put one a way. This will give you the Christmas meal that you are going to prepare.

Plan your Christmas day, write it down or put it on the computer and plan it. From what you are going to do that day to what kind of gifts you want to give. Start working on that list. By having a list. This will help keep you on track and you will have a better Chritmas since you have a list. I've saved a lot of money and time by having a list.

When I go shopping, I found green table cloth for $1.99, which was normally $7.99. This was at a craft store. I took them and I will use them on Christmas day. I saw Christmas orienments for 99 cents, I will be buying one every paid until I get a pile of them.

You can get some great paper plates right now cheaply because it's the end of the summer and get them in Christmas colors, if not, take plain white plates and have your children draw on them to make them very Chrismassy...

Find games, and toys at a cheap dollar store or sometimes a garage sale. You can find some good toys. Christmas stocking stuffers. This includes people that you know that no longer want those toys.

If you live in a part of the country that has a lot of natural views and sceens. Go for an afternoon walk and collect and save lose tree branches, big folge leaves and use them as decoration. I'm sure you have some type of paint that you can use or put a ribbon around it.

I used cartoons section of the sunday paper as wrapping paper one year and everyone had a great time with it. The love the look.

Get your best clothes out and start minding them and making them look better. It's plenty of time to get that look just right.

Look for Christmas games to play on the internet. You can print it up and have fun with your family.

These are some tips that can help you have a very cheap and great Christmas.

Look, I do understand that you want to provide the best toy or the best gift. But remember, your child, friends and family will remember the warmth and fun you gave them during Christmas. Not the gift. Can you honestly tell me what kind of gift you got 5 years ago or last year.

I know that I can't.

I enjoyed reading your article. You are right in so many ways. Its not about the quantity you give. If it comes from the heart people will remember. I would much rather have a gift with love and thought put into it than a gift that cost a ton of money. There are so many ways people can save money if they would just ask themselves if it is a need or a want. God Bless
